Lord Mayor Says Dublin Gay Pride '08 Will Be 'One to Remember'

More than 10,000 people are expected to take part in today's Gay Pride Parade in the Irish capital. And Dublin Lord Mayor Paddy Bourke predicts it will be 'one to remember'. Growing larger and more colourful year on year, the parade is already second in size only to St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Wrapping Up the Bingham Cup

More than 30 rugby teams made the trek to Dublin, Ireland this year for The Bingham Cup 2008, an international rugby tournament named for 9/11 hero Mark Kendall Bingham, one of the founding members of the Gotham Knights rugby team. The Sydney Convicts ran past London’s Kings Cross Steelers by a score of 18-3 to claim their second consecutive Bingham Cup victory in the Premiere Cup Division.

UK's Gay Community Has to Act Together as Religious Pressure Mounts
Religious groups have launched an 'onslaught of dishonesty' against new laws aimed at protecting gay people from discrimination, it was claimed Tuesday. George Broadhead, secretary of the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA) launched the attack as the new Sexual Orientation Regulations (SOR) to the ‘Provision of Goods and Services’ section of the Equality Act 2006 came into effect in Northern Ireland.

HIV Cases Reach 20-Year High In Scotland
AIDS activists and Scottish health authorities are expressing alarm over new statistics that show the level of HIV/AIDS has risen to equal that of the 1980s. Most of the new cases are in gay men. The 91 diagnoses of HIV among gay men in 2003 is the highest annual figure ever recorded for men who have sex with men.
